Triple Crown dog academy is just minutes north and east of Austin, Texas. Located on 350 acres, Triple Crown offers an unmatched facility, with a professional staff of certified trainers, and on-site pet care specialists. The facility includes a 32,000 square foot climate controlled Event Center, 200 indoor/outdoor runs, grooming center, puppy nursery, clubhouse, pro-shop and more. There is plenty of parking for cars and RV's and good cover with many trees front and back of the facility. The facility hosts many events and the Shamrock Showdown Flyball Tournament is scheduled the same weekend as our Championship. Should make for a rowdy and exciting weekend!
Club Brevet Trial hosted by Lone Star Mondio
A Club Trial for Brevet Entries is planned for Friday. The Brevet level is meant to introduce the sport of Mondioring to new or cross-over trainers from other sports. We expect this to
be a good time to see the up and coming trainers and dogs.
Mondioring has a series of exercises to be executed by the dog and handler team in the categories of obedience, jumping, and protection. At the Mondioring III level, there are a total of 17 exercises, completed without interruption, and lasting approximately 45 minutes. The obedience in Mondioring is based on functionality with the emphasis being on control in spite of distractions and temptation.
Props, scenarios, and distractions of all kinds are placed at strategic points on the trial field.
The complexity of the trial field and the scripted scenarios are designed by the Judge to test the control and character of the competing dogs.
The theme chosen for this championship is Alice in Wonderland. Participants and observers are invited to dress for the event. We welcome ideas
for field props, accessories, and music. Or even better, come on out and help us build our set!
